The Basset Bleu de Gascogne is a medium sized Hound used to hunt rabbits, wolves, deer and boar due to their great stamina and scent detection. They tend to have an even temperament, ranging from reserved to outgoing, but never shy.

They can be sensitive to the cold as they have a relatively short coat but do make for easy training. The Basset Bleu de Gascogne makes for an excellent hunter and great companion overall.
