The Foxhound is a large Hound bred for hunting and as the name suggests for hunting foxes in particular. The dogs have an incredible sense of smell and hunt in packs.
They are incredibly fit and strong and as such are not well suited to small children. Foxhounds do generally have a great temperament towards the family but need to expend their energy. This does make the breed a great working dog.
