  • Did anyone in the UK see the horizon programme last week about dogs? You can see it on iplayer now at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00pssgh, it's well worth a watch.

    Particularly interesting was the experiment to tame Silver Foxes and how in a few generations they're appearance change to look more like dogs.
    Also the bit about dogs developing a bark specifically to communicate with us and how they are good for our health!

  • Yes that was an interesting theory - that without dogs to help, we couldn't have successfully made the transition from hunter gatherer to farmer. We owe dogs a lot!!

  • i watched this too, however the silver fox has been on another dog programme before cant remember what one

  • Wouldn't be surprised, didn't they say they started the experiment in the 50's?
